Tokyo Fashion Week

Fucking awesome. Blows pro nails away and reminds me of being bored in class in 2nd grade.

Art for Obama

Shepard Fairey and Jennifer Gross have a crazy new book out through Abrams entitled, Art For Obama. Featuring artwork from more than a hundred International artists, including Ron English [illustration above], Lukas Ketner, Kwaku Alston, Maya Hayuk, and Lisa Anne Auerbach, many of the works were created before the election to raise money for the Obama campaign.

Juan Francisco Casas - Pen Art

Most impressive work I’ve seen in a while - Cases uses nothing but ballpoint pens to create his large-scale, photorealistic images.

Insanewiches!!!

Don’t question perfection.  A whole site dedicated to the world’s most fascinating sandwich art - pretty much the 8th wonder of the world.

More Insanewiches here.

JK Keller Box Creatures

For Tokion’s Film and Music issue, JK Keller upcycled old VHS packaging, turning it into characters from the ‘The Fifth Element’.

Box creatures plus oh so much more via JK’s site.

Osama Bin Lincoln

Really?  I shouldn’t say it, but this is kinda amazing.

Black Acid Co-op

Jonah Freeman and Justin Lowe’s exhibit at Deitch Projects (18 Wooster Street - on view until August 15th).

From the New York Times:

“Deitch’s latest foray into the noncommercial is “Black Acid Co-op,” an immense, labor-intensive, maniacally contrived walk-through environment. A warren of some dozen rooms, interiors and passageways, it includes a burned-out home methamphetamine lab, a red-carpeted gallery of pseudo-artworks and a hippie haven”

Richard Colman

One of my favorite artists.  More narrative paintings via Richard’s site.
